The company was a specialized niche player in providing data quality assurance services for Pharma and Biotech companies to improve the accuracy of their clinical trial data.

Challenge

Company was acquired by its largest competitor. An important factor for the acquisition was its success in acquiring and developing large key clients despite its start-up character. Post-acquisition challenge was to maintain the Team in order to further generate new business.

Approach

Establish transition plan to assure that key people would maintain their entrepreneurial spirit and decision making autonomy in the post-acquisition phase. Develop proper incentive system to assure alignment of interest of staff in company success.

Outcome

Key team members were promoted and assumed further responsibilities. Team stayed intact until integration was completed after the two year transition period.
